>>About 4th floor food service needs to be improved, and setting up Starbucks, Au Bon Pain etc. in the terminal.
We have received your letter dated on July. 20 ’09 from the 「Director-general Mailbox」regarding to the 4th floor food service needs to be improved, and setting up Starbucks, Au Bon Pain etc. in the terminal. We’ll put forward your suggestion to the related management as a reference for improvement, as for the Starbucks and Au Bon Pain which are expired, please been kind advised.
>>About smoking affairs and officer’s English ability.
We’ve received your letter dated on July 12 ’09 regarding to the smoking affairs and officer’s English ability. According to the new smoking rule, which is available from Jan.11th ‘09, the airport terminal is forbidden for smoking. We have suggested the related government organization to make a special revision for the international airport; we sincerely hope privilege permitted soon. We’ll also put forward the suggestion about English ability to the related division for the improving in the future. Thank you for your suggestion.
>>About the warning signs for passengers
We have already informed the Airlines to show their deep concerning to the passenger who slipped on. The mentioned sliding door is equipped with a pushing and pulling device which is made for clerks to access checking counter conveniently, we’ll accept the passenger’s advice to make a warning sign for preventing from such an accident happening again.
>>According to the new smoking rule
According to the new smoking rule which is available from Janu.11th ’09, the airport terminal is forbidden for smoking. We have suggest the related government to make a special revision for the international airport, we sincerely hope privilege permitted soon.
>>Unknown Passenger complain that T1 is very old and there are not English books or magazines in waiting area small book shop. Here are our responses:
Dear Sir, Your comment has been delivered to us via Director-general Mailbox of CAA on November 24, 2008. We have a totally 1.4 billion NT dollar budget project to renew terminal 1 and the project is in detailed stage. We will start to implement this project in middle of next year.(2009)
Since the space is limited, there is little English books or magazines in control area small book stores. But in the third floor of T1 uncontrolled area, there are two books stores which have more English books and magazines there. These two book stores are located at south and north sides of the third floor.

1.Only phones which operate with IC card or coins can be found at airport and phones which operate with regular phone cards
    can not be found.
2.Could not find our favorite cigar brand “BALMORAL“ in the duty free shops.

These regular phone cards can be refunded or changed to IC cards at the service counter of Chunghwa Telcom. The Dominican cigars BALMORAL don’t sell at Ever Rich and Tasa Meng duty free shop, but sell at TTL(Taiwan Tobacco & Liquor Corporation) duty free shop at terminal 1.

Dear sir,
Your comments have been delivered to us via Director-general Mailbox of CAA on April 25, 2008. After survey, we think the exit signs of parking lots are clear enough. If it is possible, please describe the location more detailed. So we can improve our exit signs of parking lots. The coffee shops(85℃, Starbucks) open at 06:00,but they need time to prepare opening staff (hot coffee, snack, cake...). We have asked them to provide services for passengers as early as possible.

Dear Sir,
Your comment has been delivered to us via Director-general Mailbox of CAA on April 7, 2008. We have planned to install 2 new baggage carousels at terminal 2 and these carousels will be implemented at July 2009. On April 16 2008, we also tested 2 ways import baggage operation in order to improve baggage claim efficiency. The result is being evaluated now and we hope this new operation can help to accelerate the speed of handling baggage.

We have received your letter dated on Jun. 17’09 from the 「Director-general Mailbox」 mentioned there isn’t any international food found in the transit area such as Starbucks and Subway etc..
Please being kindly advised those two shops are expired and there are another two shops as「I-Mei Food Court」、 「Just Cafe」to be instead, which provides some international food as your description.

>>If the airport had a luggage department that I could keep my luggage ?
Welcome to Taiwan. When you arrive at Taoyuan International Airport, you may submit an application to the custom officer for luggage depository at the custom hall. After the approval of your application, further procedures, listed as follow, will have to be done at the luggage depository services counter. 1. To have your luggage weighed, for the charge is based on the weight of your luggage regardless its size. 2. The charging standards(each case) are: NT$ 200 for luggage weighed below 12Kg, NT$ 250 for luggage weighed between 13Kg and 22Kg, NT$ 300 for luggage weighed between 23Kg and 32Kg, NT$ 400 for luggage weighed between 33Kg and 42Kg, NT$ 500 for luggage weighed between 43Kg or for valuable one. 3. A receipt will be given to you by custom officer at the service counter. Please keep good care of your receipt, for the receipt will have to be handed to the airline ground staff for the reclaim of you depository luggage when you check-in for departure. 4. Service hours: 24 hours We hope the above information can be of any help to you and wish you have a pleasant and safe journey.
